Every four years the world stops to watch fútbol. Even if you’re not a soccer fan, er-cough–FÚTBOL fan, it’s easy to get struck by fút-fever and become a Pocho Socialite like me. With pachangas, viewing parties, and plain ol’dancing in front of your TV to reggaeton star Nicky Jam’s “Live It Up” the official world cup song, you have to be sure you know exactly donde en SD estan los biggest reventones, osea the Best places to watch the world cup in San Diego.
Here are San Diego’s best places to watch FIFA action and my top team pick’s headquarters, por si le vaz al otro equipo, ¡aguas!
MEXICO
Let’s cut to the chase, paisas. Tu y tu bandita wanna see Mexico score, upside: their first two matches are on weekends. Downside: it’s fathers day. Pero no te agüietes, there is still plenty going on, especialmente if you’re in the South Bay.
Machete Beer House in my hometown has a projector and TV’s scattered throughout. These guys embody the spirit of El Tri even offering limited edition tees to support ‘el equipo de todos’ and the #SouthbayUprising. Like a good neighbor, the new Salud location will be bringing Breakfast Tacos to watch at Machete! Here’s my plan for the three MX games:
Machete Beer House – 2325 Highland Ave, National City, CA 91950
Digital Gym Cinema – 2921 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92104
Music Box – 1337 India St, San Diego, CA 92101
ARGENTINA
Pampas Bar and Grill por el 163, is an Argentinean steakhouse by the Montgomery Airport and makes some of the best steak found in San Diego. Pampas Bar and Grill – 8690 Aero Drive Suite 105, San Diego, CA 92123

Brazil By the Bay Restaurant and Sports Bar in Point Loma es un auténtico lugar Brasileño hasta me hablan en Portugues when I go there for dinner. Si te sientes, a little ritzy, check out Rei Do Gado, a Brazilian steakhouse in the Gaslamp Quarter, con cuatro screens dedicadas a La Copa.
